Wal-Martians and The Space Time Continuum.....

It has been observed by more than one human that the amount of work one has to complete in a given time either expands or contracts to fill the amount of time available, or is certainly inversely proportional to the amount of time needed to complete the work.  In other words, if you make the time, you'll have the time to finish a project, yet the more that needs to be done, the less time there is to do it......curious.  All that is just my explanation  of why it has taken a vast amount of time for me to get back to blogging.

Wal-Martians??  Yes, I have seen them everywhere, but they can't keep me in their "Mother Ship" for very long.  CNN had a report about a couple of enterprising 20 somethings who indeed had a LOT of time on their hands and decided to publish www.peopleofwalmart.com.  If aliens, time travelers or even the future crew of the USS Enterprise on a 5 year mission had ANY questions about life in this country during the late 20th and early 21st century, this should explain a lot.  According to cnn, the site has gone viral, which has NOTHING to do with H1N1 (swineflu) virus, but seems to be the flavor of the week among the digital illuminati.  Check it out for yourself if you dare, but I warned you!

In other market developments, CNN (also FOX and everyone who is anyone)  reported last week about a displaced, resurrected, DNA deficient Neanderthal in Georgia (where else!) that seems to have taken on the task of Wal Mart's Enforcer, at least in the Stone Mountain store.  It seems he decided that a 2 year old girl needed disciplining, and he was JUST the person to administer 4 slaps, just to get the kid's attention.  I don't know about that store in Georgia, but he wouldn't have made it out of the door at the Lake City WalMart last night (Saturday).  This place is not just a big store anymore, nor is it just a modern day mall.  THIS STORE IS ACTUALLY THE CULTURAL CENTER AND BIGGEST GATHERING SPOT IN TOWN!!!  The recession/depression must be over, the crowd was at LEAST 90% female.  He would have most certainly been torn apart long before any cops could show up, the only thing anyone would know about it is "clean up on aisle three".  I'd bet this guy is just a disgruntled ex store greeter that had snapped and been fired after witnessing one too many "brat meltdowns" as baby mama came into the store screaming and slapping the kid herself.

Now the REAL reason I have been neglectful in spleen venting (and it was getting pretty nasty), is because Purple Grannie has had me and her son on a mission to find, negotiate, and purchase something appropriate to travel and live in for an indefinite time (or maybe the rest of our lives, whichever comes first).  There was some discussion about whether a travel trailer/truck combo or a big RV would be the best bet.  After canvassing a good part of Northern Florida, South Georgia and Craig's List, we FINALLY found a really good, used, affordable deal in Georgia.  As a matter of fact, Suncoast RV in Lake Park and Rick did a FANTASTIC job answering a lot of questions, and making us a very fair deal.  As PG Annie said: the adventure begins..............

In The Beginning...

Wow!

It has taken me almost a full year to finally decide how and why I wanted to start this blog.  Though I have been more or less blithely enjoying involuntary, hopefully short term "retirement" (unemployment w/benefits), I have resisted adding another social internet site to the verbiage I already do not keep up with including facebook, myspace and twitter.  On the other hand, since this blog is not designed to communicate with friends and neighbors on other than a one way basis, maybe it won't be that complicated.  No extra frills, mob lists, favorite songs or the like.  I will simply use this avenue to periodically purge myself of bad memories that might be interesting to others, opinions of mine that probably WON'T be interesting to anyone other than myself and perhaps my posterity, and partly as a travelogue of upcoming adventures I expect to have as I crisscross the USA with Purple Grannie Annie learning more about our world, and checking things off the "bucket List".

If you'd like to know more about Purple Grannie Annie, she is also keeping a blog, has a website, and would love to hear from ANYONE that cares to email her.  One of her ambitions as we journey together is to refresh her art muse, and maybe even give an art lesson or two while posting photos and her own comments.
Here is a link to her blog....
